Patient Education
Patient education in the form of videos and written information, and given to patients before their exam, has been used as an intervention to help reduce anxiety in MRI patients. The purpose of written information is to help patients prepare mentally for medical procedures and to support the patient’s perception of being in control27. Some studies have shown educating patients using videos and written information helps reduce MRI patient anxiety, motion artifacts, and prematurely terminated exams27,30,93.
